News Update on 2010-12-01

December 01, 2010

Yarr, Hohoho and Hadoken everyone! It's christmas time finally! What better time to stress down your nerves than by playing old games? Here's the update list:

Compute EmuZone added several, among these many obscure titles I've never heard of. But, there's Xider from 1987, Dragon Dorado and Commandos 2.

The Game Reserve added the title which made all kids crap their pants and run like hell, namely "Alone in the Dark".

GamesWin adds several title this update. "Risky Woods", a platform action game, good old "Jetpack!" which I associate as a christmas game, and "Great Courts", a tennis game.

We at The DOS Spirit have for the 6th time now, started the annual Christmas Calendar. That's one review every day from 1st to 24th of December. It's become a tradition that I believe we were one of the first to do. First review out is "Eye of Horus" a platform/puzzle game.

Finally, Latis and his XTC Abandonware adds "Breach 2", a turn-based strategy game in the same spirit as UFO: Enemy Unknown. One advice though: drop all the "casino and online gaming"-links non-sense, noone wants them!

In other news, Da Fast Lane is back up (since 15th nov) and should be checked out at www.retroring.net. Speaking of the opposite of happy, kind of sad that The Abandonware Gazette is flipping out, but apparently Vincent understood one can't be a freeloader forever and is turning his focus into law studies and partying. Can't one combine all of these? The rest of us sure have..

Aight, expect plenty more frequent updates throughout December, so until next time: stay retro!
