News Update on 2010-11-08
November 08, 2010
Now that's a battleship load of updates! Let's dig through!

- Abandoned Gamesroom adds several goodies to the Space Quest sections. Hint books, manuals and game pages. Graphic novels are included too! Woo!

- Abandonia adds a real classic, namely Super Street Fighter II Turbo. If the original wasn't fast enough, this should keep your fingers triggered!

- Best of Games seems to be in the wallpaper mood. They've added several for Mario, Punch Out and Sonic. If your desktop is outdated, then refresh with some of these.

- C:DOS adds reviews for Genghis Khan and Diciples of Steel. (Note: What's up with those smileys all around the site??)

- Classic Gaming Network is packing a punch with several content updates. Asterix & Obelix, Battle Arena Toshinden and Caesar just to name a few.

- After GamesWin has lectured us on how to use their site, things become clear: recent additions include Afterlife, Discovering America, Cyberlaw and Overkill to their sortiment. Afterlife is a rather obscure strategy game from LucasArts of all things, Cyberlaw and Overkill reminiscent of One Must Fall 2097 and Discovering America caters to all Civ-fans. Also a light "sorry" for totally ignoring an important section of the site. However a tip to all webmasters: We siffle through alot of sites every day, put your newest (featured) content on the landing page, so people understand what's new!

- My Abandonware is going into that same trap, no real info on what's new. Also, don't state that everything you offer is legal. Abandonware is not legal..

- Smush The Cat breaks the trend of not telling us what's new with timely fashioned news, just the way we like it. They've added a super sweet shooter, namely Tyrian 2000 (if you haven't played it, DO SO NOW!) and Sango Fighter a typical fighter clone with a historical twist. And it was released as freeware in 2009. Jippi!

- Stare Hry Oldgames (which means Old Crap I think) have added Commander Keen 8: Dead in the Desert and Commander Keen 7: The Keys of Krodacia . Actually never heard about these installment in the series. Also, Starinky enjoys a resdesign.

- We at The DOS Spirit added a news about Gobliiins for iPhone and iPod touch. Enjoy those good old games for that modern "touchy" generation. Also, we're in heavy preparation for our yearly Christmas Calendar. For the fifth (or sixth?) year in a row, we present one review EVERY day from 1st to 24th of December. Remember to tune in then, as there are plenty of goodies abound!

- The Game Archives keeps updating games to systems you've probably never heard about! This time it's the Sharp X1 with almost 100 games. Keep it up Game Archives, you do a job that's unpresidented (to my knowing) on zhe intarwebs!

- Last, but not least, The House of Games added the Gold of the Aztecs. According to the review "you play an adventurer who is out for the tresures that the Aztec civilization left behind in the deep jungle. You fly a small airplane and armed with your trusty knife and a gun you parachute out in the jungle and this is where your adventure begins". Sounds like something for the adventure fans! Happy questing!

That's all the info you need to know! Happy surfing, and as always: stay retro!

Edit:
Retro is loved by zhe cats too!
