News Update on 2010-07-08
July 08, 2010
Yo ho ho and a bottle of RAM! I'm back from South Africa baby!

I'm back to tell you that there are updates anew before this very exciting weekend, the weekend where we'll know who wins the World Cup in Football 2010! In that regard, let's celebrate with some games that matter; the old ones.

Game Reserve packs a punch with many updates. Amongst the most recent we find King's Quest IV: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder! and Omnicron Conspiracy. The latter you play as a Star Police Captain, your job is to maintain peace in the Universe while there's a big conspiracy going on. Never heard of the game before, but judging by the intro screen it looks interesting. As a sidenote and fun fact, quote Mobygames: "Computers Gaming World never reviewed the game, but they listed it in 'best game of the year' ". Now that's epic.

The Good Old Days has several games in their update list, or some aren't really games. First is ESheep: Watch a sheep wander around your desktop eating flowers and chasing your mouse pointer! I remember this one! Then there's Chicken Invaders, which is like Space Invaders only with Chickens...I think there are several sequels to this weird series.

Last, but not least, there's my man Latis over at XTC Abandonware. He wants us to play High Octane and Zoom!. The first is a racing game as you'd might expect, and the latter is like a board game of sorts, where you have to fill out the blank spots and avoid enemies. Judging by Latis' words, it's very playable and recommended.

That's that for now, soon vacation for me which means more time for what matters, old games. Until then, I leave you with an EXCELLENT newgrounds presentation, Robot Pirates!. See it HERE.

Until next time,
stay retro
